September 29, 2018 from 11 am until 7 pm, Celestial Attic will be hosting its first ever Picnic at the End of the Universe. This event will be a giant, geeky, potluck / picnic celebrating all the geeky arts. Best of all, it is all FREE!
There will be giveaways, prizes, music, games and demos to enjoy. There will be a costume contest as well. Cosplayers, bring your best!
We will also host a Really, Really Free Market that day. It is a sort of swap meet where you leave the geeky stuff you don’t want, and take what you like. You can either take the remains back home at the end of the day or let us donate them to charity. This is a great way to let your books, stickers, buttons, DVDs, T-shirts, games, toys and tapes find a new home.
Bring a dish, drink or dessert to share. Bring a game to play. Meet people. Enjoy the day.
We could use sponsors to buy burgers, dogs, buns, condiments, plates, cutlery and cups. If you are interested in getting your shop or product in front of Cleveland’s geekiest people, then this is an opportunity you will not want to miss. Email: email@example.com.
This weekend is packed full of geeky greatness, so much so that the calendar ate the show. Whether you are parading the circle, enjoying the AHA Fest, fighting with the SCA in the Northern Oaken War Maneuvers, or going to Sci Fi Valley Con in Altoona or Comicon in Columbus, this weekend is a Cleveland Geek’s dream.
If geekiness can be an experience, then Parade the Circle makes a pretty good one. This is one of the great Cleveland festivals, Parade the Circle is a project of the Cleveland Museum of Art, but the paraders come from all over the city. They spend over a month building their costumes and acts, never mind the months of recruiting and planning.
June 9, 2018, Parade at noon, Circle Village 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
All parade workshops are held in the parade tent (11150 East Blvd., corner of Wade Oval Dr. and East Blvd., in the former CIA parking lot)
For 29 years, the Cleveland Museum of Art has been bringing this FREE signature summer event to Greater Cleveland. University Circle comes alive with color, music, and art for all ages. International and national guest artists join Greater Cleveland artists, families, schools, and community groups in a spectacular display of bright costumes, giant puppets, stilt dancers, handmade masks, and colorful floats. Circle Village, which includes activities, entertainment, and food, is presented by University Circle Inc.
